Celebrating Eve

It is great to be a woman!* There is so much we can do*, yet we give ourselves and each other such little credit. Why?

Throughout history*, women have taken on important roles and have made grand accomplishments.  There are countless stories showing courage in the face of adversity. yes.jpgThe difficult manner in which triumph was obtained mattered very little once the goal was met. It was understood that to be successful, risks had to be presumed.

Pain is endured at childbirth but is forgotten once we hold our baby. Child rearing is done without knowledge, yet excellent leaders are raised. We labor all day, only to arrive at home and work on household tasks*. Where did we lose the belief that we were anything but exceptional?*

Oftentimes, a woman who perseveres finds she cannot share her achievements with other women. Instead of celebrating her amazing victories, she is told they are ordinary*. It is no wonder we become separate. eve-pencil.jpgSince the beginning of time, God made Eve as a helper. Aside from the importance of being a companion to Adam*, this should be an indication for us to inspire one another.

A motivating word is priceless when it is heartfelt. Let us be sensitive to our sisters and learn to accept their successes as our own. We can be so powerful together for there is strength in numbers. You are all exceedingly phenomenal women! Keep the faith in yourselves and maintain a united sisterhood!*

A woman is the full circle. Within her is the power to create, nurture and transform.~ Diane Mariechild ~

The most common way people give up their power is by thinking they don't have any. ~ Alice Walker ~

Proverbs 14:1 The wise woman builds her house, but with her own hands the foolish one tears hers down.

Genesis 2:18 Then the Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper who is just right for him.”

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.  Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.  It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.  We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?  Actually, who are you not to be?  You are a child of God.  strength.jpgYour playing small does not serve the world.  There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you.  We are all meant to shine, as children do.  We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us.  It is not just in some of us; it is in everyone.  And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.  As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.)  ~Marianne Williamson, A Return to Love: Reflections on the Principles of "A Course in Miracles," 1992 (commonly misattributed to Nelson Mandela, 1994 inauguration speech)
